Building a New Wildlife Blind

From design to reality…

With the amazing generosity of our members and community, the Friends were able to raise $15,000 to cover the design-and-build costs of the Park’s new Wildlife Blind. A perfect destination for watching (and photographing) wildlife, today the Blind offers a beautiful location quietly and peacefully to enjoy nature.

A year in the planning, it has been thrilling to see the design of regional landscape architect Jim Pollack come to life. Legendary stonemason, Darrell Klesch, who built the original blind back in 1988/89, did the stonework, and local builder Steven Booth headed up demolition and construction.

Our long-term plan is to do water harvesting, xeric planting and re-vegetation around the blind, creating habitat for wildlife of all kinds.

We hope you get a chance to visit the Wildlife Blind on the Nature Trail soon!
