Designing a New Geology Trail

The Friends of Oracle State Park are thrilled to announce that a brand new Geology Trail exploring the Park’s 1.7 billion-year-old history is now complete. Created by FOSP member Tom Buckley, a geologist, engineer and entrepreneur, the 1.2-mile Geology Trail highlights the Park’s unique geologic features, including rock outcroppings, mineral deposits, igneous intrusions, and more.

From active faults to rising mountains and inland seas, visitors will be rewarded with insights into how major geologic events shaped the Park’s magnificent setting and breathtaking views. Both self-directed guides and ranger-led tours are available.

To learn more, see Tom’s informative slide presentation, The Geology of Oracle State Park.

We look forward to working with Tom on achieving funding for interpretive signage and outreach in the coming months. If you would like to support this initiative, please consider making a tax-exempt donation.
