Wildflower in Oracle State Park

Deborah Gaines, President

A native Tucsonan desert rat, 20 years in Oracle, AZ. Graduate of University of Arizona and Arizona State University. My passion: Exploring the natural world and doing what I can to support biodiversity.

Dr. Roger Bailey, Vice-President

Native San Diegan surf bum. Education and career in psychology and public-nonprofit management. Passion at the Park: Photography and Hiking.

Michael Carroll, Treasurer

Mike grew up in our most densely populated state (New Jersey). After a misspent youth studying philosophy (Ph.D., Univ. of Iowa, 1977) and a career in software development, he retired to Arizona. He values the park for its vistas and wide open spaces.

Laura Malbasa, Membership

North Coast (Cleveland) native. Speech therapist, art therapist, and photographer. Enjoyed times in New Orleans, Montreal and Louisville, but finally followed my heart’s yearning for the desert in 2016 and moved to Oracle. Love this gem of a park for its beauty and history.

David Singleton, Secretary

David grew up in the least densely populated state (Wyoming). Studied Art at Univ. Texas at Austin (BFA). Avid birder and sea kayaker and lover of the wild places left in the world like Oracle State Park.

Emily Düwel, Webmaster

Born in Tucson, raised and schooled in New York, many hats include communications, museums, education and design. An Oracle dweller since 2004, I loves the Park’s trails, scenery and historic adobe.
