Annual Meeting and Arizona State Parks Meet & Greet
On Nov. 12th, FOSP held its traditional Annual Meeting in the Kannally Ranch House Living room at Oracle State Park, which started with a social and 6 pm and then proceeded to the meeting at 6.30.
Mary Ann Pogany, who will retire as FOSP President in December, introduced the new candidate for President, Jim Walsh. As she noted about the former Pinal County Attorney, "We are so fortunate that Jim Walsh has elected to give his time and energy to Friends of Oracle State Park."
Mary Ann then updated members about the potential for a new partnership with the U of A Extension program. Master gardener Kathie Griffin looks forward to their working with the Park to accomplish exciting changes in the gardens.
At the meeting, Members were encouraged to attend a potluck meet and greetat the Park on Nov. 15th, during which Bryan Martyn, Director, Arizona State Parks, visited Oracle State Park, will be on hand to meet with volunteers and the public. It was hoped that the issue of reopening the Park full time and visitor bathroom amenities would be addressed.
At the December Christmas meeting, the new FOSP officers will be decided and announced. As a reminder, general FOSP meetings are held on the second Tuesday of alternating months at the Kannally Ranch House at Oracle State Park.
